We sat down and picked 64 of the best movies to face off in an epic battle. Now you can help us at The Crispy Noodle choose the best movie of all time by participating in The Crispy Noodle Movie Madness Showdown 2013. Your selections will help guide our decisions on which movies move forward in the competition, and which ones go back on the shelf!
The Rules:
- We have final say. Of course, we won’t disregard a movie that earns the majority of fan votes, but we have the final authority in determining the winner in close calls. Your votes help us weigh the public opinion towards a movie, and will be crucial in settling many arguments down the road.
- The three factors we will use to determine which movies win include: the fan vote, aggregate scores, and our personal opinions. Baring an incredible, mind-blowing argument from one of us, if a movie takes 2 out of 3 it will most likely win the matchup.
- Some criteria we discussed (but you can use any criteria you want) when picking the movies include:
- “Watchability”: will you watch it multiple times, is it a good movie to watch
- Narrative: effect of the narrative…emotion, theme, strength of story-telling, its construction, etc.
- Artistic qualities: how do the musical score, cinematography, visual effects, etc. add to the film
- Social, cultural or historical impact: how it “changed” things in the film industry and in real life
- Fame: awards, money earning, public interest, the notoriety of the franchise, etc.
- We understand that movies are a subjective thing. Please be understanding and open minded. There were a ton of great movies eliminated from the list. Just making the list at all indicates a movie’s merit and quality; even the (16) seeded movies are some of the best of all time.
