Wil Wheaton Talks About Why It’s Awesome to be a Nerd

This is a short video I found of Wil Wheaton (nerd hero, famous for his role on Star Trek: The Next Generation and lots of other acting and writing credits) talking about being a nerd. The video is from a woman at the Calgary Comic Expo in April of this year. It seems that she asked Wheaton to record a short message for her young daughter about what it means to be a nerd, and why it’s actually really awesome. The results are amazing.

Wil Wheaton is an exceptional speaker and his short speech is very inspirational and passionate. His motivational and touching words perfectly capture the essence of being a nerd and really drive home the idea that the experience and world of nerds is absolutely amazing (in case people didn’t already realize that). The greatest part, however, it that the message isn’t just encouraging for all us nerds out there, but it’s also an excellent lesson and commentary for almost anyone in any situation. Take just a few minutes to watch this incredible video; you won’t regret it. I know it brightened my day.
