As the end of June quickly approaches, so to does one of our favorite local events: The Too Many Games Convention. For the past two years, we attended the convention to preview all the great indie video games, test out new tabletop games, watch the fun and informative panels, and marvel at all the rare and interesting retro gaming gear. This year, we’ll be heading back to the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks PA to hang out at the biggest and longest running gaming convention in the Philadelphia area.

Last year, Rich and I had a blast sampling all of the upcoming mobile and PC indie games. we even had the unique opportunity to try our hand at some VR gaming concepts, including a space flight combat game featuring cupcakes, and a strange first person shooter that had us jumping every time a monster fell out of the sky onto our heads. Many of our favorite developers and tabletop game makers are returning this year, so we’ll be bringing you the latest updates on our favorites projects.

But the indie game showcase is only one portion of the events at Too Many Games. Every year, the Angry Video Game Nerd himself, James Rolfe, is in attendance. Him and his crew at Cinemassacre also give a few fun panels and stick around for autograph signings. Last year we had the opportunity to take share a few words and take a few pictures as we caught the Angry Video Game Nerd walking around the show floor. Even though The Angry Video Nerd is undoubtedly one of the biggest draws for the convention, there is still so much more to do between the other countless other panels, live music acts, and video game and card game competitions.

Too Many Games is once again estimating even larger crowds and more events as the show continues to expand every year. If you’re interested in this year’s Too Many Games convention, check out their website right here. You can also check out all of our coverage from last year’s convention over here, or check out our awesome photo gallery from last year below.
