60-Minute Music Mondays: The Brat Pack

Welcome to 60-Minute Music Mondays! Every Monday, Rich and Mike will compile an interesting 60-minute playlist on Spotify, each week based on a different theme. You never know what you may find on each week’s playlist!

This week’s theme: The Brat Pack.

“Dear Mr. Vernon,

We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. But we think you’re crazy to make us write an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us—in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain… and an athlete… and a basket case… a princess… and a criminal… Does that answer your question?

Sincerely yours,
The Breakfast Club.”

This past weekend was the 33rd anniversary of when the Brat Pack signed off on this essay above and served their famous detention at Shermer High School in Illinois. So, we figured why not do a classic Brat Pack-themed soundtrack for today’s 60-Minute Music Monday? We’ve hand-picked songs from the soundtracks of the 4 major Brat Pack movies: Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, St. Elmo’s Fire, and Pretty in Pink. Make sure to give a fist pump in the air to honor Bender when you’ve finished the playlist…

Thanks for listening to our 60-Minute Music Mondays!
